Rigatoni A La Vodka
So I know traditionally vodka sauce is made with vodka, but hey those on a beer budget like myself don't want to be wasting our vodka on pasta sauce so I decided to make a vodka free vodka sauce, that in my opinion is just as good and has even more flavor.
The Recipe:
- Rigatoni
- Jar of marinara sauce
- Jar of alfredo sauce
- 1/2 White onion
- 4 slices of thick cut pancetta from deli or the prepackaged cubed pancetta found near your deli
- Red pepper flakes
- Parmesan
- Essentials
- Start off by sautéing copped onion and cubed pancetta in 2tbls olive oil and 2tbls butter on medium low
- After about 5 minutes add 3 minced garlic cloves and 1/2tbls of red pepper flakes
- When pancetta is browned and onions translucent add two jars of sauce and season with salt pepper and any Italian seasonings of your preference
- Simmer on low while you cook the pasta then combine and add some parmesan to taste
